Health & Safety
|
At Scothern Construction, we are fully committed to all aspects of Health & Safety, continually monitoring and advising on the latest legislation and best practices. Our comprehensive Health and Safety Policy underpins our strong track record of maintaining safe working conditions across all sites.
As Principal Contractors, we offer services such as Planning Supervisor/Safety Coordinator as part of our complete project package, ensuring all safety aspects are covered. We recognize asbestos as a critical Health & Safety concern, especially in refurbishment and alteration projects, and we are well-equipped to handle these situations. All of our staff undergo asbestos awareness training, and we can facilitate asbestos surveys and the safe removal of licensed asbestos materials. All of our on-site staff hold current CSCS skills training cards, which include Health & Safety Awareness. Our site managers and foremen hold SMSTS (Site Manager Safety Training Scheme) qualifications. Our ongoing training program is extensive, ensuring that both initial training and regular refresher courses are available to all employees. In addition, operators of our plant equipment are trained and certified under the NPORS/CITB scheme. To ensure we remain up to date with the latest regulations, we work with external Health & Safety consultants who help update our policies and provide guidance on any safety-related concerns. We undergo regular inspections and audits by various Health and Safety bodies and hold accreditations from CHAS, Eurosafe, and EYRC (certificates available on request). Our Environmental and Waste Policy is comprehensive and can be provided upon request. The Directors and Managers of Scothern Construction are dedicated to maintaining our excellent Health & Safety record and to providing a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders involved in our operations. |
